Student classroom and office volunteers
These opportunities are open for any current or former SMAS students.
Fluency in English is recommended.
Classroom Volunteers:
- Work with students individually or in small groups in a Teacher-supervised classroom setting to support the ESL, GED or Active Adults programs
- Help students practice for the Citizenship test
- Provide interpretation and translation in classes, during school events, or upon special request from staff and teachers
Office (SMART Center) Volunteers:
- Assist staff with office work – answering phones, organizing files, making copies, etc.
Note: English Language Learner and Citizenship Volunteers are required to take Literacy Tutor Training provided by the school following a class observation.
