Join Instructor Booker for this self-paced online course. During this 16 week session, you will be guided to complete your choice of one or more of the following courses: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and QuickBooks**.

Please note: Your experience level and whether or not you are interested in petitioning for college credit* will determine if you will be able to complete more than one class.

*If you are interested in receiving college credit for any of the above classes you must inform the instructor at the start of class and you must follow the college curriculum in the allotted time.

**While the QuickBooks class is online, students must purchase access to the course e-book. A five-month free trial software license is provided. You are responsible for ensuring that your system meets the minimum system requirements needed to download and install QuickBooks. The instructor will provide installation assistance. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the beginning operations needed to use the computer, keyboarding, file management skills, Zoom video conferencing, Remind and Google Classroom. Instructor Booker is here to help!

Coursework is fully online including free session-length online tutoring and guest access, so students can survey a class prior to joining. The instructor and student are separated by distance for the entire course and can interact elusively (100%) through the assistance of communication technology such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and/or Google Hangouts.

Microsoft Word 2016

Introduction to Word for Windows software. Topics include an overview of document formats, preparation (creating, formatting, editing, saving and printing) of both single and multi-page documents; outlines, tables of content, tables, multiple windows and file management. Also includes graphics, charts, columns, templates, macros, mail-merge, labels, sorting forms, and software linking.

Optional College Credit:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to petition for 3.0 college units through San Mateo Adult & Career Education with the College of San Mateo.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2016

This course examines the components of effective business presentations, capabilities, and features of business presentation software for the purpose of planning and creating a complete presentation of integrated text and graphics in a slide format. Includes orientation to current PowerPoint application program and review of basic business presentation features. Also examines advanced features of PowerPoint such as customizing templates, animation and slide show effects, charts, importing templates and clips from MS website, self-running presentations, making presentations available to others, like work groups.

Microsoft Excel 2016

Creation and use of spreadsheets, including spreadsheet design, use of menu systems, basic and advanced formulas and functions, relative and absolute addressing, formatting, printing and graphing. Also includes design and optimization of large and complex spreadsheets, database features, macros, and linking of spreadsheets with other software programs.
